Research agenda

Despite a general appreciation of the nexus between human rights and corruption, jurisprudence of international human rights mechanisms lacks a systematic approach to addressing corruption. Instead, reports and judgments refer in broad terms to ‘corruption’ and ‘human rights.’ Formulating clear policy responses requires understanding what specific acts affect what specific rights, and how they do so.

U4’s work on this theme aims to help practitioners in civil society, national and international institutions to apply human rights law more rigorously to address concrete challenges that corrupt practices pose in their context.
