Good practice in strengthening transparency, participation, accountability and integrity
Transparency, participation, accountability and integrity are interconnected concepts and constitute elements of any anti-corruption framework. Transparency initiatives involve promoting access to information for a wide range of government processes in several sectors. Participatory approaches aim at empowering beneficiaries. Both are more likely to be effective if combined with more traditional forms of accountability such as monitoring, control and oversight.
